Lemon Myrtle Fragrances has created and produced natural lemon myrtle moisturizer to protect and nourish the skin cells and has added advantage of antibacterial, anti fungal and germicidal benefits. This was an aim of the business since the revival of lemon myrtle as an industry in Australia in the early 1990s. Lemon myrtle is one of many Australian botanicals used by indigenous families and tribes for a range of medicinal purposes, deter insects and add flavour to food and drink. Europeans originally started using the plant when lemons were scarce early in the 1900s. Many Australian botanicals are suitable for skin and body care however, lemon myrtle has the added advantage of a distinctive, refreshing lemony fragrances that is uplifting and highly cleansing.
Roger Bird, the founder of Lemon Myrtle Fragrances was one of the original European producers and pioneers of the lemon myrtle revival, producing essential oils with high citral content. Since 1990 the business has been providing natural moisturizer, using a macadamia oil base that has a similar ph to the skin, so it soaks in and works to improve the skin’s resistance to drying, cracking and scratches, and has anti-ageing properties. The natural benefits of essential Lemon Myrtle Oil which is added in small quantities helps clear up irritations and skin infections.
